Coogee is a villagey surf beach just a few beaches south of the more hectic Bondi.

It's a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport and the city centre. 10 minutes from Fox Studios, the Sydney Cricket Ground and Football Stadium, Randwick Racecourse, The University of New South Wales and five great golf courses. And a waterfront walk to Bronte and Bondi Beaches.

• Throw back a cold beer at the Coogee Bay Hotel or the Beach Palace Hotel
• Check out the shops and cafes on Arden Street - Coogee's main drag
• Have a picnic, barbeque and relax on the grass overlooking the beach
• Rock out to some Latin and African tunes at The Aquarium
• Send an email from one of the several internet cafes
• Grab some take away and find a peaceful spot to eat
